I found your blog after doing a Google search regarding vasectomies. My husband just had the procedure and I felt very reassured after reading your post on that. Have you read some of the horror stories out there about things going horribly wrong after a vasectomy? Scary. I was definitely needing a reassuring word. We don’t have children, but plan to adopt in the future… the vasectomy seemed to be the way to go since pretty much all the other birth control options we’ve tried/considered were obnoxiously unsexy.

From your other comments it’s clear you have a problem with honesty. My daughter knows that having her was mainly her moms idea but now that I have her, I can’t imaging life without her. Feeling wanted has nothing to do with the surrounding situation that lead to conception, it’s how you behave afterwards as a parent. In a way she feels even more loved because I haven’t spun a fantasy about how I wanted to have child so badly. And too further blow your mind she also knows that at first I thought I wanted a boy because I had all these misconceptions about little boys and girls. She has proven how misguided I was and I’ve told her that I’m super happy I have a girl now. She thinks that’s pretty funny and feels very special about that fact. It’s also been a great talking point for discussing gender stereotypes and how not to be influenced by them. But I assume you feel that subject is also off limits as well. Best to just pretend and ignore.

I gotta agree with anomymous here. I did it many years ago and I have not been hornier in my whole life. My theory is somewhat like his theory. We know that the balls signal hornyness through the blood stream, but I think the produced sperm gets stuck on the vas deference which is actually shorter after the vasectomy and hence the pressure in the balls gets higher quicker. That’s my two cents.

I got mine done in January 2011 and I must say it’s the best! I’m happily married for 8 years and we just have one child.Got rid of all my condoms. Concerning being hornier, damn it’s all the time now. I guess it’s knowing that my wife won’t get pregnant anymore that excites me the most. Be smart if you get it done. It’s not a ticket to just sleep around with multiple partners do to STDs. But if you only have one partner like me,man you have no idea how much fun it is.. Good luck to you all.

Good luck. There’s a very slim chance of complications with a vasectomy, but the risks are much lower than just about any other type of surgery you’d get. Of all the guys I know personally who’ve gotten snipped all are very happy about it.

Unfortunately that doesn’t make sense because the sperm doesn’t back up into the testicles.I leaves the testicles but gets stuck on the vas deferens where it stays until it gets reabsorbed into the body. So your “balls” have no idea where the sperm is. As far as they’re concerned it’s gone. Mission accomplished

I did it 2 years ago and I am horny as hell.
I am even hornier then before the vasectomy.
I think it due to the fact that the little swimmers get packed up in your balls and send signals to your brain its time to empty…
