Now, on topic, I wish there were more female leads in action movies too, I can only remember Sarah Connor and Jessica Biel’s character in Blade. In the Japanese animation there are some, just look for Hayao Miyazaki’s creations: Nausicaä and Kiki (now translated an distributed by Disney).
